northern taco

At Hungry Hippie Tacos, we celebrate the incredible connection between flavors and ingredients from the north and south. Jeremy, hailing from southern Illinois (the gateway to the south), brings his warm hospitality and imbues our dishes with deep-rooted BBQ culture. And Kate was born and raised in northern Wisconsin, so she brings her unique northern flavors to the table. Our house-smoked meats reflect Jeremy's southern upbringing, while northern flavors like sweet corn relish, cheese curds, and puffy homemade taco shells help to define the concept of the northern taco. We are constantly playing and having fun in the kitchen by experimenting with flavor profiles and unique combinations of ingredients. These adventures have lead to the creation of goodies like our blueberry BBQ sauce, our sauerkraut and apple-smoked pork taco named the Grateful Pig, MN Maple sopapillas, and the list goes on and on. We take pride in making as much as we possibly can in-house and use the freshest ingredients available to us. Our concept of the northern taco has been crafted by our roots, our adventures, and our passion for having fun with food. It’s a fusion of ideas and cultural traditions that continues to evolve on a daily basis. Stop by either of our locations in Duluth or Grand Marais and explore our menu, have a northern taco or two, and have some fun.
